Our Mission:
"To engage our school community in the arts by financially supporting the education of our students in music, art, dance and drama at Oak Grove and Willowside Schools."
Oak Grove Union School District has a long tradition of engagement with the fine arts and instrumental music. In 1999, our community championed that tradition by supporting a parcel tax to continue funding these programs during a time of severe state budget cuts. At that time, a group of interested parents formed the Oak Grove Education Partners as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit education foundation in order to additionally support the community goals.
This combined effort led to the development of a comprehensive, engaging arts and music curriculum in all grades, all classrooms throughout Oak Grove and Willowside Schools. Every student has the opportunity to experience the arts and develop art skills through art residencies, year-long music classes, and electives held during and before school. Please see the current list of the Fine Arts program offerings.
The Fine Arts program is developed by the district's Arts Coordinator working closely with the district's Fine Arts Committee, teachers and staff.
Although the parcel tax expired, OGEP continues to financially support the program through parent pledges, community donations, employer matching funds, and a variety of fundraisers. Our "Education Partners" remain determined to provide a full and enriching education for the students of Oak Grove and Willowside. We welcome your participation!
